Prenatal & Breastfeeding Support

Prenatal & breastfeeding support is available in a one-on-one setting. If you have questions, concerns or are in need of support, feel free to call. We can set up a time for you to come to the centre or an at-home visit, which ever best suits your needs.

Breast Pumps & Baby Equipment

We have a variety of baby equipment available for you to borrow including breast pumps, baby slings and breastfeeding pillows. Families First has hospital grade breastpumps available free of charge for short term use. We try to accommodate all requests but serious issues such as premature baby, low birth weight baby, low milk production, weaning and other medical concerns take priority.

Home Visits

Home visits with our prenatal program staff are available upon request. It is not always easy to get yourself and a new baby out of the house. Our staff can visit you in your home to introduce you to our programs and to address any questions you may have.

The Baby Care Workshop

The Baby Care Workshop demonstrates the skills that are vital to newborn care. Topics covered will include handling, diapering, dressing, playtime, bath time and feeding. You will also learn tips for calming your baby, what to do when baby is sick, and postpartum care.

Baby Club

Baby Club is a time for parents of children ages newborn to twelve months to get together and share the joys and challenges they are experiencing. There are guest speakers, informative discussions and time for socializing.

Youthful Moms

Youthful Moms is a weekly group for parents under the age of 25 or first time moms. You will share information , tips and discussion to help with the day to day challenges of parenting.
